184British website Mobile Today is claiming that the LG GD910 Watch Phone will sell on the Orange network across Europe for about £1,000, which is the rough equivalent of 00 USD.

A £1,000 pricetag would seem to make sense, since it this is a boutique item and it was announced last week that Orange would be the official carrier, but source attribution in the article is close to nonexistent, so it’s tough to say where this originated from. If this price rumor is indeed true one has to wonder if 00 is worth living out childhood retro-futuristic dreams. [Mobile Today via CrunchGear]

347If this somewhat dubious photo is to be believed, a Pocketables.net forum poster has successfully booted OS X on a Vaio P. He claims that much of the hardware doesn’t work yet, though.

As you know from our Dell Mini 9 Hackintosh guide, hardware support is everything-a netbook running OS X with no networking, sound or graphics at the native resolution is certainly no fun, which is why the Mini 9 is one of the best netbooks for Hackintoshing.

My first question with this photo is-where is the task menu bar? (thank you commenters for helping avert this horrible disaster this morning!) And why not release more detailed information on the process, Mr. DaHarder? Anyway, if this eventually pans out, the Vaio P would be a fun OS X machine. Fingers crossed. {Pocketables via BBG]

600Sony’s new concepts for fuel cell batteries come in some interesting flavors, like these speakers-with 70s transistor radio look-that can recharge your phone or multimedia player. Or the fuel-powered, completely-wireless, coffee maker-looking home theater speaker.

800

Apart from the weird look, the home theater speaker is particularly interesting as it can run for months without needing a recharge.

I’m not so sure about the indoor fuel charger, however. Would it be cheaper than just connecting your devices to your computer or power plug? []

356This is Sea Shadow, the Navy’s first stealth vessel and the inspiration for the stealth ship in Tomorrow Never Dies. It can now be yours, for free. But there’s a catch.

The catch is, the Navy is insisting upon donating it in tandem with a giant, ugly, rust-laden submsersible barge called the Hughes Mining Barge. The vessel was actually used as a floating dock for the Sea Shadow, protecting it from the prying eyes of Soviet spy satellites.

The WSJ has a great story on Frank Lennon, a Naval museum operator in Providence, RI whose sole attraction—a retired old Soviet sub—was sunk by a tidal wave. While it has recently been exhumed from the deep, Frank has his eye on the Sea Shadow as his next big crowd-getter. Now he just has to figure out what to do with ths shitty old barge it comes with.

Anyone want to take on old Frank for the prize? The Navy is waiting for your calls. [WSJ]
