The result would be less wear-and-tear on the joints, better ankle support and a ride so smooth that it is almost like true ice skating. I haven’t attempted in-line skating since the mid 90’s, but I would be willing to strap into some of these if they ever went into production (with a different color scheme of course). Parajumpers is a new Italian brand inspired and named for the 210th Rescue Squadron in Anchorage, Alaska. The names of each of the styles—like Gobi, Denali and Kodiak —are names of legendary missions to which the Parajumpers dedicated their jackets.

Manufactured in Italy, the line of outerwear fuses function, highly technical components and chic looks, all expertly designed by Massimo Rossetti (formerly of Diesel, Woolrich, Valentino and Barbour among others). For the Spring/Summer 2009 collection, jackets come in lighter weights and feature special material that’s both water-repellent and 8% metal, giving it a slightly wrinkled effect.

Multiple pockets and laces make transporting iPods, GPS devices and mobile phones in the Claimant pant (below right)easy, eliminating the need for carrying a bag when out adventuring, whether in the urban streets or back country trails. For even more functionality, zippers run along the inner leg that open to reveal a mesh lining providing extra ventilation.

Chinese officials have reported a UFO sighting while they were on an airplane and, in case anyone thought it was just a case of baijiu-induced hallucinations, they snapped pictures of it too.

In a report from Xinhua, the government-sponsored news agency, a group of journalists and officials were on a Southern Airlines flight in late February when one of them noticed an unusual luminous object traveling alongside their vessel.

After excitedly pointing it out to everyone around him, one journalist managed to snap a few photos before the object suddenly changed directions and swerved north east. The witnesses debated whether it had been a plane – but later, another plane did appear and everyone agreed that it looked nothing like the unidentified object they’d just seen.

Altogether, the alleged UFO sighting lasted about a minute. Any idea what it could have been? Aliens? Solar flares? AMERICAN SPIES?! [Xinhua]

Here you have the F-15 Silent Eagle, a classic fighter with special coating and sightly angled surfaces to reduce its radar signature. Check out its completely new weapons bays, integrated in the fuel tanks.

Obviously, this plane won’t have the same stealth capabilities of the F-35 Lightning II or the F-22 Raptor, but according to Boeing, it’s a low cost version of those amazing fifth generation combat jets, according to Mark Bass, F-15 Program vice president for Boeing:

The F-15 Silent Eagle is designed to meet our international customers’ anticipated need for cost-effective stealth technologies, as well as for large and diverse weapons payloads. The innovative Silent Eagle is a balanced, affordable approach designed to meet future survivability needs.

The plane has Digital Flight Control System—which reduces its weight and improves reliability—, anti-radar coating, and redesigned conformal fuel tanks that can hold the weapons inside, from air-to-air missiles to air-to-ground weapons. This allows for two things: It allows to have less surfaces to reflect radar waves—which result in a smaller radar signature—and, if you don't care about the radar, load more weapons, since the wings can carry the standard payload of any F-15 Eagle.
