This product, developed by Sagem-Orga and BlueSky Positioning, is definitely one of those products that truly defines plug-and-play. Somehow, these two groups have figured out how to put a GPS receiver, antenna, as well as the application software into a product that fits into any phone’s card reader. It can work with any GSM or 3G phone, and, when inserted, it will run on your mobile like a SIM/USMI. Apparently, there are no software or hardware changes required for handsets, and it can support generic location-based services such as navigation, such as “find a place or person” services and location-aware games. It also supports E-112 and E-911 Emergency Call Positioning and enables SIM, mobile, and network-based LBS applications. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a release date for this product, but there is word that the product was given out last November. Perhaps the company wanted to give out samples in hopes word of mouth would spread, kind of like what Joby did with the Zivio Boom at CES unveiled. For more information about this product, read here. LCD Clock iPhone App Makes Your Real Clock Seem Pitiful and Sad [IPhone Apps]

LCD Clock will display the time and calendar while you are charging your iPhone or even enjoying your music with a dock speaker. It can switch back to 12-hour or 24-hour mode easily, just by tapping the screen. There is an alarm function too, but it won’t work if your iPhone is in silent mode. There’s no guarantee it will work when your iPhone is asleep or locked either—fortunately, there is an option to disable auto-locking. With the calendar, you can flick up to see the next six months, with Japanese or U.S. holidays highlighted. If you’re in Japan, you can also display the Japanese “Rokuyou” calendar. The calender will also remind you of birthdays and anniversaries. With multiple date and time display options, LCD Clock also gives you the ability to change the display color. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a purchase to make (Jason, I promise you I can wake up!). iPhone Pro / Next-Generation iPhone 3G to Arrive on June, the Arabs Say [Rumor]
Kategoria: Matkapuhelimet | Jätä kommetti

While the article doesn’t specifically quote Mark Davis, Programme Director for iPhone at etisalat, on the June release, it seems like the piece of information may have been dropped by Davis himself, given that all the article seems to be based on an interview with him. June seems like a logical release time, but this is the first time that there’s a mention of a new version coming around that date. Samsung to release 12 megapixels of cameraphone foolishness this month?
Kategoria: Matkapuhelimet | Jätä kommetti

It’s been a few years since Samsung unleashed its 10 megapixel cameraphone onto the world. Now we’re hearing that Samsung will push the limits of absurdity to a full 12 megapixels “this month,” likely at Mobile World Congress. The phone is expected to hit the production lines in February with a European debut shortly thereafter. No details are provided other than the picture above used (but not attributed) by Unwired View. If this is the unannounced phone then we can obviously expect GPS geotagging, DivX video capture, and WiFi with DLNA support. One thing is clear: Samsung thinks that Europeans are pixel braggarts with little concern for image quality. The iPhone already has its own clock and alarm built into it, but what about cheapos who need a real, manly clock? You can get a dedicated “clock” for only , you late people!
